PHYSICAL THERAPY
The Physical Therapy Department is located in the Northwest corner
of the Crete Area Medical Center across from the Physicians Clinic.
The department is equipped with new and moderate equipment providing
the latest in exercise equipment and modalities. The Physical Therapy
Department was designed to promote a welcoming and warm environment
as the patients attending therapy are treated to an abundance of natural
lighting, a special low impact floor and serene and relaxing colors.

The Physical Therapy Department performs over 5000 patient treatments
a year. The department provides physical therapy to both inpatients
and outpatients treating a wide range of patient types from post-surgical
strengthening programs, pain reduction programs, gait training and balance
re-education. Hot and cold, electrical stimulation, and ultrasound are
just some of the modalities available to the therapist to facilitate
the patient’s recovery.
The Physical Therapy Department is staffed by Physical Therapist Jeff
Schultz, Director. Jeff has over 25 years of experience in the inpatient
post-acute care and outpatient care. Upon an initial visit to physical
therapy Jeff evaluates the patient’s condition and sets up a plan
of care for the appropriate rehabilitation. Jeff treats and evaluates
upper extremity, lower extremity, back and neck conditions. Rehabilitation
is carried out by Jeff who is assisted by physical therapist assistants
Nicole Leif, PTA and Michelle Sachtjen, PTA. Also supporting the professional
staff are techs Jane Weideman and Karleen Uher.
The Physical Therapy Department is open Monday through Fridays from
8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. for treatments of outpatients. Inpatients are
seen five days per week, but as often as seven days a week if requested
by the attending physician.
