LABORATORY SERVICES

The laboratory at the Crete Area Medical Center will provide testing services for many of the patient care facilities in this area, including: Crete Area Medical Center Hospital and Physician's Clinic, Wilber Medical Clinic, Wilber Care Center, Saline County Jail, Crete Manor, Garden Square, and many of the home health services. The test menu done here has expanded greatly and most of the tests previously sent to Lincoln, Omaha, Kansas City, St. Louis, and the Mayo Clinic are being preformed locally at the Medical Center.

Patients and Doane students who are seeing physicians and specialists in other cities can conveniently have their lab tests done here and results faxed to their out-of-town providers. Appointments for outpatient lab work are taken daily, and normally the patient can be in and out of the lab within a few minutes, saving lots of time driving to Lincoln and waiting to get blood drawn in the larger facilities. Scheduling before and after work or over a lunch hour is easily arranged.

The lab has expanded hours of coverage to accommodate hospital, clinic, and outpatient needs. Lab staff is available for outpatient testing Monday through Thursday 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Fridays 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday mornings 8:00 a.m. to noon. All other times, laboratory staff continues to be on emergency call.
