The Crete Area Health Care Foundation

The Crete Area Health Care Foundation is the fund raising arm of the Crete Area Medical Center. The Foundation was formed in 1990 with Bill Heitman being the first Foundation Director. The Foundation has 17 directors from the Crete area. The board also has two non-voting members, which include Carol Friesen, President of CAMC, and Susan Chrastil, Director of Development.

The Foundation supports and funds medical equipment and facility renovations with donations received. The Foundation also provides medical training for employees of the Medical Center to assist them in maintaining and improving their medical skills through scholarships. The Foundation has always been independent with all monies received staying in the Crete area and they will continue to remain committed to the same cause. All donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Donors giving gifts accumulative of $1000 or more are recognized on our "Wall of Commitment" in the hospital.

The Foundation's annual campaign, the Care and Share campaign, usually begins in March. Community volunteers make up the task force and are dedicated to this fund raising effort to benefit our hospital. Participants may choose to designate their donations to the general budget, which includes our special projects, or endowment. Other annual events are the Golf Tournament, Bowl-A-Thon and Tree of Lights
