Care & Share 2008 Campaign

Opportunity to give…

Care and Share is an annual campaign, which gives families and businesses the opportunity to pledge financial support to preserve and enhance healthcare in our region. By joining Care and Share, you not only become a member of the Crete Area Health Care Foundation family, you build on the past success of the Foundation and more importantly, invest in the future of healthcare in the region.

What is the Foundation?

Since 1990, the Crete Hospital Foundation has served as the fund raising arm of the hospital to enhance health care in our community. Through the generosity of our community, former patients, their families and friends of the hospital, the Foundation has been able to lend financial support in many ways. The Foundation plays an important role in funding those special projects that our hospital needs.

Giving back to the Community…

The Crete Hospital, Crete Medical Clinic and Wilber Medical Clinic have a long tradition of serving the community. They continue to seek ways to best meet patient needs in an ever-changing environment. The Crete Area Health Care Foundation is operated exclusively for charitable and promotional health care purposes to benefit health care in our community. 100% of all donations are used for whatever you designate, either new medical equipment or the Endowment Fund. Donors giving gifts accumulative of $1000 or more are recognized on the Wall of Commitment in the hospital lobby.

Over the past seventeen years, through the donations from community members, the foundation has awarded over $48,000 in scholarship funds to give back to the employees of the hospital, and over $2,000,000 in medical equipment and facility renovation for the hospital. In addition, the foundation works each year to increase its endowment fund. In June, 2003, the Crete Area Medical Center built a new hospital and medical clinic with state-of-the-art medical equipment. During that year, the Foundation purchased an Automatic External Defibrillator, Cardiac Treadmill, Chapel furniture and pictures, totally funded a Healing Garden for the new hospital, and helped fund the Telemetry Monitor. During 2004, the Foundation funded a physical therapy auto ultrasound, orthopedic equipment, Bladderscanner, Pediatric Pump and Oximeter, and an infant baby warmer for our pediatric area. In 2005, the Foundation funded a new Colonoscope, an Advanced Cardiac Life Support mannequin, Long Term Care equipment, an ER scale for the EZ lift, and received a grant to put in a walking trail at the medical center. In 2006, the Foundation purchased surgery and radiology equipment plus new monitors. In 2007, the Crete Area Health Care Foundation purchased a Dosimeter for babies, 2 new ER Heart Monitors/Defibrillators, and helped fund a new Ultrasound Machine for the Crete Area Medical Center.

We have a brand new medical center, which is an excellent addition to our community. The future promises to be exciting and challenging for all of us. The Crete Area Health Care Foundation will continue to remain independent, and all monies received through fund raising, memorials, and other donations will stay in the Crete area and not be going to any other hospital or town. Our foundation is a local organization concerned with the benefit of the Crete Area Hospital, Crete Medical Clinic and Wilber Medical Clinic and we will remain committed to the same cause.

Charitable gifts are one of the most important and fulfilling ways you can help shape the world around you. There are several options available to you as you give serious consideration to how you might offer your support of healthcare in the region.

  • Gifts of cash
  • Gifts of Securities - appreciated stocks, bonds, mutual funds, etc.
  • Gifts of Real Estate
  • Life Income Gifts - Trusts and annuities provide you a continued stream of income while providing support for one or more charitable institutions like the Crete Area Health Care Foundation.
  • Gifts through Bequests - Certainly the most common form of deferred giving, you provide for the organization after your death by naming the Foundation as a beneficiary in your will.
